3. Is a root canal painful?

Not anymore. Thanks to modern anesthesia, sedation options (like nitrous oxide), and advanced techniques, root canal therapy is no more uncomfortable than getting a routine filling. You’ll be numb during treatment and can drive or resume daily activities afterward.

Yes. Dental emergencies—like broken teeth or intense pain—are addressed promptly. Call our office after hours, and the on-call specialist will assist you, or we can schedule same-day treatment during business hours.

8. How do I prepare for endodontic or periodontal treatment?

For endodontics: take prescribed medications, eat normally, and inform us of any health conditions. We often recommend pre-treatment ibuprofen for inflammation.

For periodontal procedures: maintain routine oral hygiene, avoid smoking, and we’ll give you clear pre- and post-op instructions.

9. What about post-treatment expectations?

• After a root canal: Minor soreness is normal and usually managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. You’ll return to your restorative dentist for a crown to protect the treated tooth.
• After periodontal care: You may experience light bleeding or sensitivity. Soft foods and gentle brushing help during healing. We’ll schedule follow-ups to monitor tissue health.
